Alejandra Johnston is an elementary music teacher at Hill Elementary School in Houston, Texas, where she incorporates mariachi music into the elementary music curriculum. Elliott Johnston is an elementary music teacher and Director of Mariachi at the Carter Academy of Visual and Performing Arts in Houston, Texas. Prior to this appointment, Elliott served as the Adjunct Director of Mariachi at the University of North Texas, Director of Mariachi at Castleberry High School, and Assistant Director of Mariachi at North Side High School and J.P. Elder Middle School. Together they operate The Mariachi Education Press LLC and contracted Tenfold Creative to design the cover design for their International Journal of Mariachi Education and Performance and Joe Baca’s Mariachi Collection. An advertisement and social media post was also developed to announce the new releases.
